Signature Fish Oil

Humans need to consume both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids through food to be healthy. Most individuals get sufficient omega-6 through eating nuts, eggs, chicken, and vegetable oils but do not get enough omega-3, which is found in fish, walnuts, flaxseed, and chia seeds (1). Western diets have a skewed 15:1 ratio instead of the recommended 4:1 ratio (2). This discrepancy can cause an increase in chronic inflammation and lead to diseases such as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, cardiovascular disease, obesity, inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and Alzheimer’s disease (3).

Thankfully, studies have demonstrated that omega-3 supplementation with EPA and DHA can help combat cardiovascular related disease by reducing inflammation (4). Omega-3 has also been shown to help decrease the symptoms of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) (5). And this supplement’s benefits don’t stop there. One study found additional strength gains with omega-3 supplementation on top of the decrease of muscle soreness.

Another study demonstrated that omega supplementation increased the muscle protein anabolic response (6). Bodybuilding.com Signature Fish Oil contains a plentiful 1,250mg of Omega-3 fatty acids, including 400mg of EPA and 300mg of DHA to boost your omega-3 intake. It also uses rosemary extract to prevent the fishy taste commonly found in other fish oil pills.
